My Background

Education: I graduated from Haverford College in 1984 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I taught pre-school, and worked in geriatric and developmental research, before going on to graduate school at SUNY Binghamton, where I received my Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 1999. I completed my pre-doctoral pediatric neuropsychology internship at North Shore University Hospital in Long Island and then completed two years of post-doctoral training in pediatric neuropsychology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Licenses and Certifications: I hold a current Pennsylvania license to practice psychology as well as a Pennsylvania Certification in School Psychology. The school psychology credential is often an important factor in my credibility as your expert in cases where there are disagreements or disputes with school districts.

Personal: I am the mother of three boys, ages 31, 14 and 12, and I have lived in Delaware County since 1999. In my free time I enjoy digital photography.

My Practice

I have been in private practice in the Philadelphia area since 2001. My practice serves children and young people ages 3 to 24.

Many of the children I see have learning disabilities, dyslexia, or autism spectrum disorders. I do also see a number of children with more unusual medical histories, such as genetic translocation or deletion syndromes, chromosomal disorders, stroke, intraventricular hemorrhage, prematurity, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, metabolic disorders like diabetes, and traumatic brain injuries. Finally, I also see quite a few children with complex neuropsychiatric disorders.

My office is in Springfield, PA, and my clients typically live in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I am willing to travel as far as two hours away for school observations if families are willing and able to make the drive to see me. More information on the area of my practice is available here.
